Living with Pseudotumor Cerebri (IIH)
I have just been diagnosed with Pseudotumor Cerebri aka Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension.
It is caused my an excess of spinal fluid being produced and said increased spinal fluid increases the pressure inside the skull. It forces pressure upon the optic discs and causes them the hemorage. This pressure results in permanant damage to the optic disc and optic nerve, which in turn can cause blindness.
I have been told by three separate doctors in the past week that I need to lose 50% of my body weight and this has the possibilty of reducing symptoms. I suffer from crippling migraines.
Does anyone else suffer from this condition? I know it's rare but I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there.

Oh wow, that sounds really tough! I've actually never heard of this before, so thank you for sharing and for providing so much information. It must be hard to go through this, but you've made it through countless days before and I'm sure you're going to make it through many more! Hello @Iammyownheart. I'm new to 7 Cups and just found your post. I was diagnosed with IIH in June of 2017. Are you still using these forums?
I'm fairly newly diagnosed with this. My headaches are kind of dull and bearable, but my neck and back pain are getting to me and have a pretty good fog. The tinnitus also kind of gets to me, but I'm also a little used to it. I'm not sure if my hearing is actually getting worse because it got better after they drained it during diagnosis. I had a separate idiopathic hypersomnia diagnosis beforehand, but it was suddenly magically cured by lumbar puncture, so I think it was causing it.
I suffer from IIH!
Lost 10kgs, reversed the optic nerve damage and now my headaches have gone down as well. Losing weight is the key!
My opening pressure was 35 - super high.
You will be fine. Trust me.
