Culture & Disability
Tomorrow here we celebrate Heritage Day, a multicultural event.
This has me thinking how does your culture or your country help you with your disability. Is there something you your culture could do to make it easier for you?
Overall, I think compared to other places I live in a place that is relatively accepting of differences and health issues, although improvement that way pretty much everywhere could be made.
I'm also lucky to have access to blood products at little cost to me. Many people here are proud to be blood donors and these products have made a huge change to my quality of life.
I would really love to see changes to financial aspects for disabilities. For some things it's a cut and dried yes, but for problems that come and go it's difficult to access similar supports.
