I would love to see more of you wonderful people in group support! The disability support room is for ALL disabilities, invisible or not!

Even if you don't feel like your pain or illness is a disability, it may be a good space for you.

This may be a stupid question... But what if you don't have a disability for sure yet...? It sounds weird but my father has RP (he is legally blind) and it is hereditary so I am at risk of developing the same... Does that count?

Hey guys... So, I deal with many mental disabilities depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder etc.... But that's not what I wanna talk about. I am 16 years old and I am in a wheelchair. Basically, what is wrong, my heart and nervous system do not work right so I am unable to walk or I will pass out. I am in the hospital many manyyyyy times and always at specialist other than that, I am too sick to leave my home. The worse part is, on the outside, I do not look sick so I am always getting told that i am faking it. People do not understand invisible illness and I wish I wasn't judged for it.

At times, it does feel like invisible illnesses bring up many more issues than just dealing with the health problems.

Hello,

I wanted to tell you that you aren't alone in being ade fun of for having an invisible illness. I used to get seizures at school and people didn't understand my problems. I used to hate it when people would stare at me while i was seizing, but now I realize that it was because of curiosity. I now realize that people make fun of me because im different and they don't understand what I go through. When people are being mean, or i just have a lot of anxiety I imagine myself in the future, being really successful and just looking down on them. It may not work for you, but it does for me. I hope I helped you.

I'm sixteen and I have fibromyalgia. It's hard for me to complete schoolwork, which makes my teachers hate me.

The school shouldn't be penalising you for your disability if you struggling with it because of your illness. Do you have a support worker that can help you with your homework or give more feedback to your school about your condition?if I was you I'd look into that or ask your parents to look it up and investigate for you so you can get the help you desperately need. Wish you the best.x
