I am a woman living on the spectrum who has faced much discrimination and unfairness in the workplace. Earlier today, I brought it up with my therapist that I have had my share of attempting to advocate for myself by reporting the way I have been mistreated in a few jobs. I was telling her that both times, no one really did anything to help me. I was in tears while I was talking about it.

1. A one job, the upper management at corporate level was very nasty to me over the phone meeting with the human resource manager. Not only did they punish me and treat me a lot worse but they also threatened that if I talked about how I was treated to anything, they would fire me. They also retaliated against me by making my work life a nightmare.

2. At another job, which was had "Supported employment," there were several things that I saw or encountered that I eventually got tired of. For example, I asked the job coaches for find me a different job but they always refused. Another example, the management at job and the job coaches were very poor and unprofessional. In fact, I advocated for myself three times and of them, I was only able to get a different job coach who was better but again, didn't do anything. Meanwhile, the mangement made it clear they hated me.

@Summershy That sounds really frustrating, I can understand why you would feel worn down. How have you been coping with it?
