so the vote ended with each topic had 1 vote so to choose fairly I put the names of topics in a random selection generator and out came pets at the end of this discussion ill put those topics in for another vote so welcome to this Forum discussion on Pets I received a feedback from last one i do get how it could be seen as too slow however made sense to post every few days or so to allow others chance to respond

@CaringBrit sometimes he wants to go outside but only if I go too then he takes me on a walk

@CaringBrit Sometimes we need physical activity to help us improve, or even maintain our level of functioning. What are some ways a pet can help with that?
There are days when it's hard to get out of bed for various reasons - anxiety, depression, struggling with physical symptoms of illness. But the cats always need fed and cleaned up after...so I have to get up, lol. My cat Bruce will sit in the other room and cry until I get up if he thinks I'm taking too long. It can be annoying but it helps me to get going most days.
If I had a dog I would love to go for walks if I could.

@CaringBrit If I were actually taking care of all the fishes needs I would have to be doing water changes, going out and getting food for them, etc. Since I'm not, they don't really have an affect on my physical activity.

I guess I don't know about pets in general, but people with dogs often have other people stopping to talk about the dog and commenting on how cute it is, etc. So dogs can help start conversations and might help in social situations for that reason.

@IluvBiscuits what breed you wanting to get ?
That is true about people with dogs stopping to talk about them...if you had a different type of pet, it is a good conversation starter too, or a way to find commonality with people. There are a few people in my office that I have only ever spoken to about our animals.
I think when people talk about their animals it relaxes them somewhat because it is a topic they can talk confidently about, and usually makes them feel good.

I really enjoyed the discussion about pets...it has been nice to have a "go to" discussion to participate in on the forum without pressure. Looking forward to the next topic. :)
