trying to get an autism diagnosis (or not)

im about to start college and im trying to talk to a therapist when i start because im trying to figure out if i have autism. ive been obsessed with the idea that i am (might be) autistic since i was 12 (im 18) and ive done tons and tons of research - but im afraid that ill be wrong and theyll say im typical and ill look like a fool. any feedback would be very much appreciated

@jalen122333444 I don't think it would be foolish to bring it up, even if you don't have it. With autism including such a spectrum it can be really easy to think you have it even if the precise criteria isn't met.

Are you struggling at all with any social skills? If so, the therapist could possibly help you improve those things if that's something you would like to work on. I think it makes sense to determine if something like autism is present before a working plan is developed.

@AffyAvo yes im struggling with social skills i could go into everything but i have to got to bed - but i have many if not most of the social criteria for women with autism
