Sleep disorder, chronic exhaustion/fatigue, chronic pain

Doctors have been zero help. It hurts so much. I'm isolated and alone because of these conditions and the most they've ever done for me is mock me and largely made things much much worse. I'm just venting but it's getting very hard and I know at this point my loved ones are very worried but I just keep to myself, grin and bear it because I know how useless trying to get real help has been for me. I'm not sick because I'm depressed; I'm depressed because I'm sick, and even more sick at the lack of help for conditions like narcolepsy, cfs/ME, and the lack of good quality research esp for AFAB and autistic populations. The injustice is hard to bear. I wouldn't wish this on anyone except maybe those who write off the chronically ill and disabled. It's gone on too long. /Rant over

I hear you and I know how frustrating it is to try and get answers and then made to feel as though you're a waste of time.

Well you are not and your feelings and health is important, even if they can't see it. I just try to treat myself with heat and rest for the pain..

Asmr sound effects for sleep, binaural beats sound waves for chronic pain. It's not perfect but it's something when the darkness takes over.

I hope venting in some way helped, even if it didn't fix anything, at least you get to be heard and respected :)

Thanks so much for sharing your tips. I will definitely try them

It certainly does help to feel heard and respected, though I'm sorry that you can relate. 💜

@memyselfandmoth I'm glad you got your safe space to talk :) Carry on venting anytime you need and try to find a focus that gets you through the day.

Even if my productivity is short lived, it still boosts me :)

The icebreaker/games section is also a place to be a lil lighthearted if it takes your fancy :)

@memyselfandmoth. I can understand. It’s the disbelief and mocking from doctors of those who are sick is hard to take.

It truly is so frustrating, yes. I've learned a lot of ways to cope but it shouldn't be like this ❤️‍🩹

I went through the same thing. I finally found a doctor that listened to me. I'm still in pain everyday and fatigued but it's much better than it was a year ago. Your doctor should not gaslight you and that's exactly what some do. Vent anytime my friend. We are here to listen. 💜

Thanks so much, Rhiannon.

I truly appreciate it.

To be honest, I fear I've run out of patience but I have made some real progress without them and honestly I feel that going back into it would only make me worse.

Even so, hearing that you were heard and helped truly warms my heart. 💜 🌙

Just found your post & want to add that maybe part of what you're experiencing *could* be autistic burnout - I'm going thru it bad right now (for 9mos actually) & combined with other things it's hard to just get thru the day, sometimes even be conscious enough for the day lol. Also you mentioned being AFAB so if you're 35+ another factor could be perimenopause but just to be clear afab/autism are the only shared characteristics I see bw us & am not trying to diagnose anything. Just want to reassure you that there's more research being done as we speak on neurodivergence/ND burnout. I also share in your frustration with docs who think they know everything! One thing that's helped me are places like this & also a few ND unmasking folks on social media, really makes me feel less alone. You are def not alone and I hope things have improved for you since this post! 🙏
