Wondering About Disability

I’ve been dealing with pain for quite a while now and was wondering if this is possibly disability levels. Everyone around me dismisses it as growing pains or just me not being active/dramatic but its been happening for a very long time.

Around 7th grade I was experiencing a lot of pain and soreness in my feet. I was very active in sports so i was confused at why it was hurting now. At one point I pulled an achilles tendon and was on crutches for a few weeks till it healed. While at the doctors, he told me I had very flat feet and should look into getting padded soles for my shoes and avoiding hard flat shoes like sandals. My mother promised to get me soles but never ended up doing that.

I complained weekly about my feet but got told constantly that it was just growing pains or my foot healing despite being in both feet. Over years the pain slowly got worse and worse, spreading up my leg. I am almost 20 now and cant stand for long without my feet starting to hurt. The longer i stand the pain goes up my leg to my knee, then my hips. It never goes up from there, but just gets sharper and feels like my bones are becoming fiberglass till i physically cannot keep standing. It can take less then 30 minutes to get to that point.

I have never gotten help because i am always told its because i am not active (i quit doing basketball and didnt do track bc my feet always hurt, but walked alot at school and didnt band so wasnt completely inactive) i KNOW what pain from inactivity feels like. I used to work out in the weight room, and this isnt that. Its not lazyness or fatigue. Its gotten to the point where mild cleaning will hurt and ill have to sit down for a bit.

I know i am at risk for a few health conditions, i have a twin with hypothyroidism (hashimotos specifically) and lupus and cancer running in my family on both sides but havent been diagnosed with anything so far. Is this sounding like anything anyone has heard of before? I’m genuinely worried how I’ll be able to keep up with a job if i cant be on my feet for an hour but I don’t know how to go about figuring out what could be going on. 🥲

@AnonymousWriter43 Sorry that you are in such pain and discomfort and that it has been dismissed so readily.

If I were you I would start to make notes on what time of day you are affected, what you have been doing, how long it lasts, how you treat it etc, so if you do decide to go to a Doctor or clinic, while you are explaining it, you can also refer to your notes or show them and hopefully then you'll get advice or help.

There are always ways to cope around pain also. For me I use binaural beats on youtubey which is healing sound waves, rest where possible.

Lastly a heated pad or blankie as that soothes and relaxes my bones and muscles but I can only use it in winter.

I hope that you get a solution so you can get some peace of mind.
