happy FND awareness month!
April is FND awareness month in the USA. April 13 specifically is FND awareness day. For those who don't know, FND is called functional neurological disorder. It's a neurological condition meaning it's caused by the brain, and it's essentially a miscommunication of the brain and the body. It's often referred to as a software issue rather than a hardware issue. Basically, the brain is sending signals to the body that it shouldn't be. Symptoms can be pretty much anything the brain controls. For me, my biggest symptoms are: dystonia, tremors, tics, and atonic seizures. Those are my biggest symptoms, but there's so so many more. If anyone has any questions I'll gladly answer them!
