I've not been well
It's one thing after another. It's been a week since I recovered from, what we believe to be an ulcerative colitis flare up but it takes forever to get a diagnosis. I had a sigmoidoscopy a couple of days ago though (after the nurse completed doubted me) and they said there's inflammation so now I have to have a colonoscopy.
I lost a week of work and struggled in work with severe fatigue the week before the flare up showed itself and that lasted two weeks. Two weeks of fatigue, blood loss, mucous and diarrhoea.
I've been feeling better and back to normal, except yesterday, I was so tired. I went to bed at 9pm which is a big thing seeing as I usually go to bed between 11pm to 1am. I slept from 9pm until 11am the next day and still didn't feel refreshed, though the bags under my eyes reduced.
Today, I've been passing a lot of blood in my urine. My bowels have been bleeding, my uterus is bleeding when it rarely does (I get a period like every 3-4 months) and now my bladder is bleeding! I went to the nurse and she had the audacity to accuse me of getting period blood mixed in it and to make it worse, she couldn't find an infection although I had all the symptoms of a horrible UTI. Before, they accused me of confusing my period blood as the blood I was passing from my painful, inflamed intestines that almost killed someone I know. It ruined my college holiday - I was so sick. The NHS have angered me so much.
Now I've got a swollen gland and sore throat. I am literally falling apart.
It's just not been a good few weeks health wise for me. I've been close to tears the last few days just because I'm fed of feeling so tired. I don't feel like a normal 21 year old and when I try to do things, my mum even says I have to accept I'm not like someone else my age. I was stressed before as I have two conditions which you can get disability benefits for, some people are out of work for. I struggle with my current hours (I do like 12-15 a week) and find long hours physically difficult. How am I supposed to get the career I want when you need to be physically fit?!
Not a good time right now.
