Need a friend
I’m pretty sure I have autism. I went too the doctor when I was younger to have me checked but she said wait until I’m older and here we are. These people were talking about autism in a really mean way and it hurt me. Anyone have advice?
Feeling down right now, Jup

Hey, I just want you to remember that ignorance and prejudice can lead people to make hurtful and harmful comments, but it doesn't reflect the truth or value of who you are. If you think you have autism, it may be helpful to talk to a healthcare professional who specializes in diagnosing and treating autism because they have the sufficient resources.
But remember, surround yourself with people who are understanding and accepting of who you are, and who value and respect you for who you are as a person. There are many communities and organizations that provide support and resources for people with autism and their families. You're not alone in this, and you can definitely get through!

I'm sorry that you had to listen to those people talk so badly about autism. I can imagine that was difficult for you. I recommend taking some time out for you through self-care, do something you love doing to distract yourself from remembering what they said. They are just ignorant and likely wouldn't have said anything if they knew about your situation.
You might find this forum a good place to also post for support in the future. :)
