What does it mean to live a good life?
In your own words, from your point of view, how do you look at the idea of living a good life?
Having friends for life even just one good friend, a friend with who can laugh with, with our own humor and cry with, with understanding and support.
a lover where both can be real, honest and who is also a friend and family for me. Where we can dream about whatever we want. Where we forgive mistakes, we try to solve problems but the same time we have space together to rest and find strength once again even if it's a slow process.
A work I love and I am good at.
Animals even just one. Music! And most important strength to help others in need!

@BlindGrapefruit It means that i live life similar to those who haven't got disabilities. It means therefore that i go to work, have friends, family, socialize, have my own flat where i cook, eat meals, spend free time, sleep at nights, watch tv, go to trips, etc.
This is really good to think about. Maybe I'm general I would say, each person has to have their own standards for what makes life good.
I had a fall almost 4 years ago now and the injury caused my disability, so where I am struggling with this question right now is trying to stop comparing the life I had before I became disabled to the way I live now, and it's just so different. Sometimes I can see what a gift it is to slow down. Other times I feel really sad about things I can't do anymore. I guess at the moment I would say that even though I'm in severe pain most of the time I would define a good life as, looking forward to things in each day.
@moosprbrk
I hear you about comparing; it does not bring much happiness. I had a period of adjustment, and I grieved losing the things I could no longer do. I suppose everyone grieves in their own way. It is exciting that you are finding things to look forward to. It is wonderful when you can learn to bloom where you are planted.
@BlindGrapefruit
Accepting yourself for who you are and helping others who don't accept themselves to do so.
Doing something I love that is worthwhile. Sitting in a garden of my own with my assistance dog next to me. Cup of coffee in my hand, book on the table.
@courageousMap3580 I'd swap the coffee for tea, otherwise sounds really great to me too!
It means to be happy in your life and spend at least some time (not necessarily every day) doing something you like to do.
Good F$%^&&*G Question
Living a good life means that i have got all the support i need. I have got a good electric wheelchair which moves me around without need of tiring self and exhausting self. I have got caregiver who helps me with any tasks which need body strenghth, such as cleaning the flat, bringing groceries home, taking things from high shelves, and also transferring me from bed to electric wheelchair and from electric wheelchair to toilet, and by dressing (in order that i needn't to bend self so much as it can be huge effort for me - when putting my bra on or when i put my shoes on for example). It also means that i get rest i needed and i need a lot of rest. I see that people with physical disabilities are in general better treated than people with mental health disabilities or invisible disabilities because people see the physical disability which incur empathy in others.
