ticking time bomb
today I sat with my husband watching breaking bad, and there was something that came up. walt's family (early in the show they kinda viewed him as a ticking time bomb). Especially after Walter was told he's in remission, to be honest it reminded me of how people in my life treat my epilepsy. Being "seizure free" is like remission in a way. It doesn't mean you're cured, and the potential for it to come back will always be there. I've got all these happy people around me (omg it's been x amount of days!) when I know it's temporary (even when I try to be optimistic it just feels that way).
I know it's not that way but I looked over at him and saw that he clearly hadn't thought anything like that for himself. I was happy for him, but knew I could never say what I just typed to him.

Hi there, I am very sorry to hear that you feel this way after watching the show. I am glad you decided to reach out here, but I do recommend that you voice your mind to your loved ones, including your husband. By telling your loved ones, they can better understand how you feel when you hear the optimistic things they say. Your loved ones should be able to see things from your perspective then and treat you in ways that don't make you feel bad. Best of luck!
@pandaprincess9 I've used the ticking time bomb metaphor for some of my health issues too. It's really difficult not knowing then a serious health problem is going to flare, attack, return, etc.
