Former autistic friend thinks he better than other people on the spectrum
Though we both decided not to be friends due to the circumstances being toxic, I recently had several triggers indicating that I am still very angry and hurt at the way he treated me. Not only does he think he is better, he also tends to think he's superior to others on the spectrum as well.
For example, he has an easy time making friends with non disabled people and is really popular. He also has had an easier time understanding unwritten social rules and other cues, and seems to think he's entitled talking down to other people on the spectrum.
He's even told me "I'm higher functioning than you are" and called me "Weird" in front of my other friends.
When we did associate, there were several times where he would condescend on or talk to me any way he wanted. So he stopped talking to me because he claimed that he was scared of what he would say next would make me mad. He also made excuses for his behavior as well.

Hi there, thanks for connecting. My name is Rosie.
So sorry to hear how your former friend has been treating you. It doesn’t sound very nice at all.
I’m not surprised you are still angry and hurt by what he said. I’d feel like you if a friend did this to me.
Can I ask what your other friends thought of him?
My other friends really did not say anything, they let him talk to me like that. They only heard him give me the back handed compliment about how I am “Weird.”
The “Higher functioning” comment was at a different even some time before that. However, he has never respected me as a person.
Again, he apologized but said that he doesn’t want to be
my friend because he thinks he is right. He does not like it that I keep getting mad at him. However, he doesn’t like it that I keep challenging his arrogant attitude
