Does anyone Have any recommendations or remedies that help with mainly back pain. I have severe scoliosis that causes so much pain and a condition that makes all pain much worse than it should be. I’d really appreciate it if anybody could help

@VaehStanifer Have you done physiotherapy before? Sometimes addressing some of the muscle imbalances that occur with scoliosis can help somewhat. I like to soak in a bath when I'm feeling sore, that helps sometimes.

You should definitely consult with a your physical therapist or a doctor before trying this.

But what helped me was actually being more active. I know that might sound impossible. In my case the trick was to start very small. Maybe just a walk around the block. And at first even that hurt, but when it didn’t keep things

flared up for too long I kept doing it.

Then, I very slowly increased. Two blocks. Two and a half blocks. Maybe some lifting with very light weights. Sometimes I would try something and it would flare things up, so I’d have to back off and try something else. But even when there were setbacks as long as I kept at it I was slowly able to do a little more and more.

Does it still hurt in my case? Yes, always. And no, I still can’t do all the things I want. But I can do a lot more then when I started, and with a lot less pain.

I’ve had injections and PT for years nothing really help much. But then I lost my job after over 8 years. So I got a new job with new insurance company. Well the back pain is now worse I can only stand for 10-15 minutes then i have to set. I can walk more than 10-15 minutes it’s making insane. I’ve been hiding it from my family and co workers can’t afford to lost me job. And I’m the solo caregiver for my husband who is critical ill. So sorry about all the extra just need someone to heat me. I’m hurt I’m not lazy I don’t just want to sleep or lay around all freaking day. I can walk or stand and even sitting hurt after a while i have to move seat on my foot ect.

I went to a new PT I was diagnosed with radiculopathy lumbar region. I’ve only been to 3 appointments so far but it’s amazing. I’m heard and they checked my joints moved my body to check for flexibility. Unfortunately radiculopathy doesn’t always show on X-rays or MRI. I felt like the Doctors and pain management specialist just didn’t listen to me. i’m doing some exercises and I get manually manipulated kinda like a chiropractor, but it is very significantly different in a positive way by no means of my hills are great, but it is just nice to be heard to be seen and not treated like a drug addict and for someone to actually be trying to do something and it actually be working I had never heard of the diagnosis before, but as soon as they started, bending me and I realize my whole left side is locked up therefore I can’t do a lot of stuff and major cause of pain.

I've been practicing vagal nerve activation. The vagal nerve is a part of the autonomic nervous system that initiates the rest and digest or rest and repair response conversely to the fight or flight response. Chronic conditions are often affected by an exhaustion so to speak of this nerve. There's a free app called insight timer that has some guided work on this as well as music. I have known people throughout my life that have experienced chronic issues disappearing after deep vagel nerve work. It's been working wonders for me. I slept through the night the last two nights.
