Hi Everyone. We all have our struggles, our trails and tribulations to go through, in order to appreciate and gain the lesson needed to help others as a living testament. I am very young, 34, and had a walker for a out 6 years. The first couple of years, I couldn't walk at all, couldn't urinate, couldn't do much and as tine went on, I was able to walk with a walker that have a seat. My body will tense up severely, especially when upset or in cold weather and even though I'm walking much better now, I still have those moments so have to be careful. I pushed myself to be better, after hearing I won't be able to walk again. It is possible to get better, but only with the right mindset and positive people around and I want to be that light and encouragement for others with disabilities of any form. We got this!! ❤🙏🏾

@NurturingA That's awesome you found a way to physically improve!

I do think it's good to recognize though that some people's conditions won't get better no matter what someone tries. It's not they aren't doing the right things, it's just the nature of some disabilities.

We can often find ways to better our lives though, even if it doesn't mean lessening the direct effects of a disability! We celebrate those accomplishment, whether it's a good physical change, situational change, or mindset 💫

We're here for all, and can offer support especially when trying to adjust to difficult situations 💙

Yes, I understand and here for anyone and everyone no matter what condition because I know alot of things is out of people control. I still have so many things in life that I can't do that is out of my control so I understand. How's your week coming along?

@NurturingA I figured you would understand that, I find it's often those who haven't dealt with a disability who seem confused that 'getting better' from a disability isn't always the goal. I just wanted to ensure any disabled members know we offer the support for their journey!

My week is pretty good so far! Lots of things going on and a few minor flareups but the major health issues are staying in check for now! I hope your week is going well too!

As for flare ups, I have them almost daily. Do you also have Fibromyalgia? What's your disability and how long have you had it? I previously named mines and for how long.

@NurturingA Myofascial pain syndrome was brought up a long time ago, but never diagnosed. Due to other issues that were undiagnosed at the time I doubt it, or at least it wasn't the primary condition causing my symptoms. Since then, I was diagnosed with hereditary angioedema and numerous tumours. Recently mixed tissue connective diseases was brought up but none of my labs for that appear that bad to diagnose it.

I have older issues too, asthma, allergies, nasal polyps, psoriasis, eczema (which has become severe alongside contact dermatitis recently) plus other things.

It's amazing you are pushing through, showing how strong and resilient you are and I'm so proud to now be in contact with you. It can be extremely challenging going through the symptoms you go through and some don't understand but you have a new friend in me. I'm here for you and wish you nothing bit positivity and healing.
