I am tired of being in pain.

July 24th, 2014

I am tired of chronic headaches. I am tired of being tired for no reason. I am tired of being sore for no reason. I am tired of having no energy to do the things I want to do. I am tired of struggling to do normal things, like dishes or laundry. I am tired of not being able to predict when I'll have a symptom flareup. I'm tired of relying on sleeping medication to get any sleep at all. I'm tired of being seen as lazy because my pain seems random and is chronic.

I am just really damn tired of my fibromyalgia.

Sorry you have this condition, I understand it well. I hope you can find others here to talk to about it, though. HUGS

I'm sorry you are having a rough time. I'm not a doctor or anything but an antidepressant might actually help with your pain, if you're not against taking medication. My dad has very bad knees (he's gone through 1 knee replacement, with the second soon) and his doctor prescribed him one for his nerve pain. It seems to block some of it I think? That might be something that could help. Good luck and I hope things work out well for you. :)

Thank you both for your very kind and supportive words. I am on antidepressents, and they do help a little bit. At time it's frustrating that as many meds that I'm on that I still feel pain, but sometimes I need to remind myself it could be even worse.

It's just exhausting, and in that moment I needed that little bit of validation. Thank you.

I can relate to you 100%. I also have chronic headache or newly referred to as chronic migraine. I have had this headache or migraine since March 2013, all day, everyday, 24/7. I am also very tired of it and am also tired of being tired. You aren't alone in this. Please message me if you want to talk! I know I could sure use it...

So sorry you're feeling this. I deal with the pain of hypothyroidism and chronic pain every day. A doctor I saw recently thinks I may also have fibromyalgia. The worst thing that I've found to do with it is think about it. I realize you're tired because I know how that is. Emotional pain takes so much of a toll. I'm only 29 and live with it every day. Doesn't mean it has to stay that way. Bringing a happier outlook has made me feel better. Exercise is also good as well.

I do hope someday they will discover a treatment for fibromyalgia, or discover what causes it exactly. I have the pain, headache, memory problems, irritable bowel and all those things that go with it. My best wishes to you and I wish I had answers, but I do know that getting it off your chest about the pain helps......... heart

I'm sorry you have to deal with fibromyalgia! I can certainly empathize. I've had fibro for many years, and have gotten to the point where I genuinely cannot remember what it is like to not be in pain. The physical pain, exhaustion, mental haze... it's draining. Personally, one of the things that I find most frustrating about fibromyalgia is that it's an invisible illness. I hate being judged by strangers, coworkers, even friends and family for moving slower, needing help sometimes, or being physically unable to do basic tasks. Of course, fibromyalgia is not unique in this way; there are plenty of other invisible illnesses, too- all so frustrating and isolating! It is difficult for others to understand if they haven't experienced it themselves. But, thanks to the internet, it's easier to connect with people who can truly empathize and offer support and advice. :) Hang in there, friend.
