can I carry on?
Is it possible to carry on when you've lost all hope?
I've been suffering in so much pain for for so long and I am wondering what is the point of carrying on because I don't wanna be in this pain no more. Is it even possible because I just feel so trapped and alone and I am breaking into pieces. I just wanna give up. Should I?
@JoyIntoDarkness
I don't think you should give up. I do wish I could make things easier for you! What have you tried? Are there things you haven't tried that you're open to?
Sometimes living with chronic pain gets to the point where it can't be reduced, but there are methods for coping with it better. I also come across a fair bit of chronic pain research, some of that may lead to hope!
I know what you mean. I was spending my second month as an inpatient in the hospital and I still couldnt use my arms. I truly believed there was no hope left. Then one morning I woke up and I realized that I was not going to let my disease control me! CRPS did not define me! So I got out of the hospital bed and started going to therapy. The pain stayed but I learned how to cope with it and in 2 years I was back to doing the things I love. My disease still affects me every single day and some days are extremely hard to get through and sometimes I end up in a wheelchair but I just remember that my disease is a part of me but it is not ALL of me. What I'm trying to say is there is always a form of hope. Sometimes you just have to make it yourself. You can get through it. I believe in you.
@Needtovent
This is really inspiring and has really boosted me today! <3 Thankyou!
@JoyIntoDarkness No problem! just remember that, even on the hardest days, your chronic illness does not define you and that thought alone will help you through a lot. trust me it helps me everyday :) <3
@Needtovent
Okay thankyou sooo much <3 tbh its been a really really difficult day today and i just i dont know how to do this ive been trying the suggestions and yeah it jsut hurts. i want the pain to stop.
@JoyIntoDarkness I understand completely I mean I personally have CRPS which has literally been rated one of the most painful medical conditions known to medical history. Some days I literally feel like someone poured gasolene on top of me and set me on fire then rubbed salt all over the open wound (I'm not even exaggerating it's that bad) but you get through the bad days just like the good because over time the pain flare will subdue. You have to take the bad in order to appreciate the good days more.
@Needtovent
I guess but it just diffivult im only a young teeneager who is still tryingnto find a way tonlivw andncope andnit is hard because i cant do things like everyone else now
@JoyIntoDarkness My first post that you said was inspiring...Where I was stuck in the hospital for months unable to use my arms?.. ya that was when i was only 14 years old. I'm only 18 now.You are never to young to make hope for yourself. I used to always be upset that I couldnt do things like everyone else (especially when my arms failed so bad I couldnt text) but I never let that stop me and neither should you.
