My therapist says it isonly Bulimia if I amthrowing up to lose weight. Usually I throw up when I use junk food to calm my anxiety. 4 tiems this week but not at all for the month before that.

I guess it doesn't matter if there is a label forit or not. I know it is bad for me

In binge eating disorder, the person will eat non stop and uncontrollably for a long period of time. It can last anywhere from 15 minutes to sometimes over an hour. The person will eat a much larger portion than what society would deem as normal. Also, they tend to eat foods high in carbs, sugars and fat while they are on the binge. Lastly, there usually is feelings of guilt or shame not long after bingeing. Uncontrollability is key here.

I don't know what eating disorder I have. I only have a cup of tea for breakfast and then don't eat till 4:30 when I get home from school. Sometimes I might snack off a friends sweets if they have some. Then when I get home I would eat a sandwhich and biscuits an hour before dinner and I usually feel full and sick after diner. Sometimes I wouldn't snack before diner but still feel sick after. Then before bed I'd have more tea and a couple of biscuits maybe. I don't drink much else than 3 cups of tea. And on weekends I mainly eat sweets tI'll I feel sick hich isn't even a lot. I've no concentration and am falling behind in school. My weight hasn't changed which is good though.

@YellowSunshine6 - I'm not a doctor or a psychologist, so I can't diagnose you with anything, but it definitely sounds like what's going on is starting to really interfere with your life, making you feel sick and losing your concentration. Do you think it might help to reach out to someone who can help you figure out what's going on?

I am a chronic binge eater.

Whenever i name it to my goal weight with exercise and healthy eating habits i eventually go right back to my old ways or eating larger portions of food that are bad for me.

I even started back tod drinking pop with most of my meals whereas before I could go weeks/months without even touching pop.

My weight goes up and down my 10-15 lbs which isn't the most flattering when you're short in stature.

I keep telling myself that when I get to my goal weight I will finally be happy and content.

What I find is when I get to my goal I notice that I'm still not happy or confident. I still feel as unattractive as before. So I begin to uncontrollably stuff my face again and slack on my workout routine and feel sad and frustrated with myself.

@proactiveBeach139 - I can definitely relate to what you're saying, especially about finding that getting to your goal weight doesn't actually bring you the happiness you are looking for. Maybe it's time to start looking at what else can bring you that joy, since your weight isn't the difference maker. When you think back to the last time you felt truly happy, what was different then? How can you reclaim that person?

It's the same for me. I'm divorced now, but I dieted really strictly and started running to lose weight thinking I would be more attractive to my husband and I lost 68lbs. Everyone else was telling me I looked great (or too thin), but he seemed even more disgusted by me. He would make fun of my new healthy lifestyle. I eventually went back to binge eating (and purging to try to maintain my weight loss) to cope with the stress of all the mixed messages and feelings of failure.

This is something I have also been struggling with lately. I have always had the predisposition to overeat, however since l started taking Lexapro for anxiety I have noticed an increase in binge eating. I don't throw up, sometimes I feel like I would feel better if I did though. I've gained so much weight 60-70 lbs in the last 18 months or so. And I can't seem to stay on a diet to try to get the weight off.

My doctor insisted I start taking antidepressants last year when I was going through a hard time.... All of the drugs said they would possibly decrease appetite or cause weight loss, but I found that everything I have tried has increased my urge to binge eat and I have gained 30lbs in the last 6 months especially
