Hi

I have binge eating disorder and I feel so alone. I don't talk to my friends and family about it as they don't think it's a real disorder they think I'm just unhealthy and greedy

I have no overeaters meetings or anything like that where I live

I'm trying to follow the 12 steps but can't get past admitting I have a problem

I don't know what to do next.

Welcome to 7 cups, and know you're not alone.

I don't think there are any simple solutions, but I think sharing your thoughts and experiences with others can be a real support. OA do online meetings. I don't know if you've discovered them?

Also, for me, 'just for today' is a really helpful OA slogan. Take it one day at a time, and just for today try to resist those binge eating urges. You could surprise yourself :)

Hello,

We were all newbies here at first too- and I welcome you. I challenged myself to cut back on a particular area, and I found a coach here to keep me accountable- she was a fantastic help. I have no advice, but I know everyone is here for a real problem or issue, and we all need that listening ear. I send you hugs too.

Food is a modern day drug, we use food to numb our emotions, to hide from the world and to immediately change the state of our bodies to get rid of the negative emotions we are feeling consumed by.

Youre not alone, trust me. But I will also tell you that binge eating is something you can overcome. The problem is you dont want to talk about, you feel socially isolated because you feel like you will be misunderstood, I get it – I get all of it.

All I want you to focus on when it comes to overcoming the struggle you have with food is breathing. Using our breath to calm our bodies and minds down. Binge eating is perpetuated but being ‘too much up in our heads. When we drop down into our bodies we are able to access a part of us that has all the answers. When we take a moment to connect to our breath, which then connects the mind to the body we are able to make decisions from a place of clarity.

Try it, right now. (seriously, take a moment right now)

Take three deep breaths while closing your eyes – focus on how you want to feel, really bring that feeling to life, become it.

Do it now.

Notice the state change of your body. You have access to this in every moment of the day – its a beautiful and liberating realization.

Youre loved.

Hey Fairydust232. I know how you feel, and that is why i am here to support YOU and hopefully get you to feel happy, energetic and healthy again. My name is Tamara Barnes and i suffered from an eating disorder back in high school and from it my mood got worse and worse till i was diagnosed with depression. I understand. I know what weight can make a person feel and think and I know it gets to the point where you don't know where to go. I've now fully recovered and am a social worker and apart of a world organisation team who help millions of males and females tackle their fatigue, weight problems and their negative outlook towards life. I am coming from a 110% genuine place and I remember when i struggled and I probably would have recovered a lot faster if i didn't have to go through it myself. This is why i want to make sure people who are going through with problems (any problems, not just relating to weight) are getting the support they need. I really do have a solution for you to kickstart your exciting journey in becoming a healthy, happy, motivated young woman. I am ALWAYS here to talk and if you would like to talk more to me and what i can offer to you please let me know. I am seriously arms wide open girl and I am the support you need. I think everyone needs a little love and boost from someone else to get where they need.
The WARMEST and KINDEST of regards :)
