Still fairly new to this
I don't know how this works but I had a session with a psychiatrist who said i either have a binge-eating or bulimia disorder and we couldn't really afford to go to multiple sessions today for the first time I vomited after a meal (i forced myself to) and I felt proud? I just felt like all this self hating and beating myself up is finally coming to use and that I actually might lose weight. it was really bizarre and I know my mom and my sister were kinda worried because I couldn't stop smiling i can't help it. I hope someone else had the same experience (not really i hope yall are doing fine) so i dont feel to weird about it
Hay. Be positive.
I like Brendon Urie too 😃 and don’t be anxious about your shape, if you wanna make some change - set a healthy schedule and do some workouts, we support yaaaaa hottie.
@Brendonurieismydad - Hi there! What you described is definitely not uncommon - one of the tough things about eating disorder recovery is the competing feelings. You know that you want to be healthy and recover, but you also have this other voice telling you that if it leads to weight loss, it's a good thing, and it can be hard to fight that voice. I'm glad that you're opening up about how you're feeling, and I hope that you're able to find the support you need to be able to focus on recovery and fight back against the eating disorder voice. Good luck!
thank you that's exactly how i feel! I really do wanna recover but I just lost some weight so maybe its a good thing?
@Brendonurieismydad To be honest, if the way the weight loss is coming is an unhealthy way (purging or restricting), then it's not really a good thing...it is possible to lose weight healthily if 1. you are above a healthy weight, 2. you are in a healthy mindset, and 3. you are doing it in a healthy manner. But if it's happening in a way that a doctor would be upset with, then it's probably not a good thing...
In all honesty the purging actually makes you more likely to gain weight. Your metabolism slows down because it thinks it needs to hold on to food. I get it though. I've done the same thing and still struggle. But the times I've struggled with bulimia I tended to be heavier.
