- Rise Up (Log your meals without calorie counting, and list your emotions on a scale, also helpful for a range of resources to help you recover) FREE APP
- Recovery Record (this allows you to log your meals with no Calorie Counting, and you explain how you are feeling about the meal and say if you have did any ED behaviours, its helpful to let your feelings out about each meal) FREE APP
- Smiley Mind (Guided Meditation app, not specifically for ED but helpful to calm the mind) FREE APP
- Headspace (Also a guided meditation app, but not specificaly for ED) FREE APP
- Pause (Digital approach to meditation app, not specifically for ED, but helpful as it relese stress and regain focus which is helpful for hard times in ED) PAID APP ($2.99 AUD)
These are just some apps that I found helpful :) Hope it helps
I LOVE Headspace for tracking emotions and meditation. I also like Puzzledom. It's not anything health related but I love it for "self-care". It's just a bunch of simple, mindless puzzle games that I like to do when I'm feeling overwhelmed or the urges to binge get louder. It's a great distraction tool.
Interesting question... actually, I don't know any! I don't have many apps on my phone, to be honest.
Sometimes I like to put my headphones on, click Spotify and listen to some music! It's not self-care not ED related, but there are (I bet!) thousands of playlists! They are also categorized by different moods & occasions! When I feel like I need to wind out, I like to play some rain sounds or classical mussic! There are also "Positive Vibes" playlists, too! Highly recommended :)
I also really like Tumblr! I know that some of you may be not fond of social media (actually, me too, I hate Facebook and all that stuff), but for me Tumblr is great! When I have some time in the morning, I search for some #positive affirmations on there! There are also some posts about #recovery and #mental illness!
Neither of these are specifically ED related, but I like:
- 'Calm' for meditation, there are some paid for meditation but also some free. I like the 'loving kindness' mediatatuon, focuses on self love and love for those around too, but in a gentle way if you find self love a little difficult!
- 'Yoga Studio' for yoga, this you have to pay for, but I love the 10 mins beginner relaxation, so good if you're having a stressful day!
:)
@Hope and all ... Do any of you know the other part of the question? websites or things available ONLINE - not on a smart phone. I have no smart phone, so I don't think I can get any "apps" at all, to my knowledge. I really would like some help/assistance in this area though. ~ Platy
@cyanPlatypus6370, these are still available as websites, often the apps have websites:
Pixel Thought ( stress release): goo.gl/kYqcts
Calm ( relaxing sounds): calm.com
You can google the ones mentioned above by others and you may find a website for them!
it sounds great. I think looking at positive quotes etc can be a great boost!
