A poem about eating disorders
*Trigger Warning*
So this is a new poem I made its about my eating issues...
I take a bite, within myself I have a fight. I think of how I will punish myself tonight. I love the emptiness in my stomach, How the coldness of the water falls. But if I keep going my progress plummets. I'm used to the rumbling , now my life is crumbling. I'm drowning in self destruction, it is a happiness reduction. The anxiety doesn't go away. Everytime I eat It decides to stay. The scale is my best friend and enemy. Calories are the monsters. They bring you to the ledge. So you jump off the edge. -hope
@imsorryitry - This is really powerful and I appreciate you sharing it with us. I definitely relate to that idea of how something can be both a friend and an enemy and that's often how I thought of my eating disorder - like the mean girl you want to be friends with, but she actually treats you terribly, but it's hard to stop gravitating towards her.
