So, I've been having some problems lately that I think sound like an eating disorder problem. I haven't been diagnosed, but I wanted to consolt other people to make sure they thought it was an issue worth contacting a professional about.

I've been really feeling like shit about myself lately.... I've been feeling like starving myself to lose weight, even though I know that's not okay. I know al ong time ago I was diagnosed with depression, and Iv'e not been taking any medicine for a while, and I've been doing fine lately, but for some reason about 3 days ago I've just been starting to feel worse.
People tell me I'm pretty, and I know they aren't lying, but I don't agree with them, you know??
It's just like.... I'm already underweight, but I'm afraid to be gaining weight like I am. I was [edited by Anomalia to remove weight specifics] lbs at the start of last year and now I'm [edited] lbs..... For some reason it is absolutely terrifying me to be gaining weight. I'm 5'5'' and 21 years old and a female, I just kinda thought that'd help you put this into perspective a bit better.

I'm basically here to see if you think I should consider gettnig professional help, or I don't know.
Because I don't wanna go to another hospital, but if people think it's necessary then I might not have any other choice.
I've never really considered myself anorexic. It never crossed my mind, because I do eat. I've never had a big appetite, though, but lately I've been eating more and it honestly just scares me to death.

I know I probably sound stupid, and I'm really freakin' nervous to post this thread. I'm really worried and I'm probably going to delete this thread soon because that's how terrified I am. My stomach is turning and I'm really reconsidering even posting it, but I have all this written down now, so why should I go back now, huh??

I just want to know if I should contact profesisonals. I feel like I might have to, but I want other people's opinions because I really don't want to. I have seen what some hospitals do to bulemic and anorexic people when they're in there.

@darkbluekittenfur And no, I'm not self diagnosing. I'm recognizing that I think there's an issue and asking if I should reach out to a professional to get proper help or not.

@darkbluekittenfur - If you would like this to be deleted, I can do that for you - just let me know.

In terms of whether or not you should seek professional help, I'm not a doctor, so I can't formally diagnose you, but I think that anytime an issue is getting to a point where it's negatively impacting your life like this or where it's consuming your thoughts, it means it's worth seeking help. You deserve to feel comfortable in your body and to be able to live your life free of these thoughts, and seeking help is a great way to start that process. It may or may not include hospitals - not all treatment requires it depending on where you're at - but I definitely believe that the sooner you start, the easier it is to recover.

I believe in you and I hope that you decide to seek the support you need to work through this.
