Corticosteroids and chemically induced hunger. And what I did to stop feeling bad for myself
Well I just wanted to get my word out and my current struggle with corticosteroids and the hunger and side effects regarding eating.
Ever since I started taking them my hunger levels just skyrocketed. I started having so many cravings and overating. My family was the first to notice but didn't know how to manage my new habits. I was even getting angry and anxious at them for trying to control my diet. Slowly with time I Started to realize my gained weight, my liquid retention, my new puffy face. And my disappeared confidence in my image and self perception. I used to be very thin and handsome. These days is hard even looking in the mirror because I bo longer recognize my face. In part due to water retention and puffiness.
I'm looking forward to Stop taking these meds but gotta wait for my doctor's orders. So for now my solution to mitigate the emotional toll was: making exercise every day and having my little routine. Every day I do fixed biking while watching a show I love. Every day I try to oush myself harder and see how much effort I can put out. Trying to Max the minutes of biking. It honestly makes me feel so good about myself which is really important because it motivates me to keep going. I already noticed my legs getting stronger and tougher which gelt so rewarding.
After that I make myself a good healthy breakfast with protein and healthy fats to keep me full for longer I have avocado toasts with scrambled eggs and a capuccino with protein milk. Having found a routine for me like this has really changed my mind, I'm more positive and I look forward to it every day, it gives me a reason to wake up in the mornings. And I feel like I've done something productive for myself

I'm sorry you have had to deal with the side effects of medication. I think it is essential that you are in discussion with your doctor about this and I hope they can sort something out for you soon, so that it's only a temporry problem for you.
In the meantime, I love the fact you have found positive ways to deal with it. Well done.
