Really struggling right now
Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well. I've been struggling a lot as of late. I've cycled back, and forth between various forms of eating disorders over the past 12 years, but as of now I'm stuck between a vicious cycle of heavy restricting, and binge eating. I can feel it really beginning to affecting my body now, and I'm not to sure what to do as of now.
I've gone back, and forth between opening up to a professional, but, as sad as this is, I'm scared too because I'm having issues "letting go" of my eating disorder in a way. It's been something that's been with me since I was around 7 years old, and it's brought be a twisted sense of comfort throughout the years. I've opened up too family/friends, but I've never been taken seriously, which has only made this more difficult.
Recently, I ended up accidentally seeing something that was meant too purposely trigger individuals with eating disorders, and I'm on a downward spiral right now. I'm not too sure why I'm posting this to be blunt. I suppose I just needed to get this out there.

I'm really glad you have posted. I'm sorry to hear how much you are struggling and how difficult it is for you. It sounds like it's been a long battle for you.
It's understandable that it is frightening to open up to a professional, especially after you weren't taken seriously by others. I'm hearing you and I'm glad you are speaking up now this way. The fact that you are reaching out is important and says that you do want help and want to deal with this but it is frightening to do so.
How can we support you here? Is there anything in particular that would help? Have you considered looking into a support group whether in person or online?
