@ScreamingForSanity - I can relate to that feeling. But I also know that you have so much strength to come post here and that your same strength can help you push through this and get to a place where things are a bit easier. You can do it, and if you need support, you can always reach out to a listener here. Take care

I feel like locking my self in my room so no one can force feed me. I feel like dying. I feel empty. I feel worthless. I feel sad.

@OliveBranch13 - I can hear the pain in your words, and my heart aches for you. I know how hard it is when you feel so worthless, but I also know that you are not. You are worth SO much more than the value you place on yourself, even when that feels impossible. Please reach out for the support and love that you need. Take care

Hello I'm new here. I am bullimic and always binge. My friends keep on bullying me for the way i look. I tried on dieting but my parents didnt understand. They just keep on telling me to eat more and they are never having a healthy life style. So when I'm doing sport or eating clean they will just judge me and make me feel more miserable than ever. I feel like there nobody understand me. Neither my friends nor my family. They telling me not to do diet yet they keep on telling me fat and ugly. I want to change. Please help

@RavenStockholm - I'm sorry that your family has been so unsupportive of you in general and that you feel you have no one who understands. I am really proud of you for reaching out here, and I hope that you find here that there are so many people who do understand how you're feeling and where you're at and who want to support you in recovery. You are an amazing person and deserve love and support from those around you. Take care

I have bipolar 2 disorder and I don't suffer from an eating disorder but I do suffer from eating problems. I tend to binge eat a lot and have no control over my impulses to binge eat. It is getting more and more out of hand. I feel disgusting with myself afterwards I feel so fat and disgusting and I want to run a mile. I don't even want to look at myself in the mirror sometimes. I have always struggled with my self image. I have a huge fear of gaining a lot of weight. It's one of my biggest fears to be completely honest. I went through a phase of barely eating anything at all and lost a lot of weight but when I looked in the mirror at myself I was still disgusted. I was too skinny so I worked out but then a storm destroyed the apartment gym so I stopped working out for 8 weeks and started binge eating and now I feel way to fat. I am just never satisfied with my body and I can never have stable eating patterns.

@PerfectlyImperfectt21 - I'm so sorry that you are struggling so much to feel comfortable in your body. I can relate to how hard it is to feel in control and to find that balance between not eating enough and binging, but it can be done, and you are strong and can do it. I love your username and think it's a beautiful reminder of what we all are (and yes, that includes you!) We are imperfect, but that is where our beauty and perfection comes from. You, just as you are, are perfect.

@Anomalia

thank you for your kind words they mean a lot today and have put me in a good mood. Everyday can be a struggle but I try to stay strong! Thank you so much <3 and you made the perfect description of why I chose that to be my username. Though I struggle with my self image I chose to believe that I am perfectly imperfect :D

have a wonderful day!

I don't have an eating disorder! But I do have problems with eating as I have done in the past when I don't eat as much as I should and exercise a lot I also had problems with purging but it never got serious enough to seek help for.

@BrightSummer889 - I have had those thoughts before, that it isn't serious enough to warrant getting help, but I can tell you, it's far better to reach out for help now when it hasn't consumed you than waiting. It sounds like even if you don't feel it's serious now, it is certainly not healthy and can spin out of control pretty quickly. I would strongly encourage you to get the support you need now, rather than waiting. Take care

Cheers hun, I'll try to but I'm really worried about my parents finding out ! Is their any way that I can tell someone without them finding out?

@BrightSummer889 - I'm not sure what confidentiality rules do and don't apply at different places, but you can always ask before you start. You could potentially talk to a school counselor, look for sliding scale treatment that doesn't go to insurance, or find a support group - if you're in the US, ANAD.org has a lot of free (suggested donation) support groups, which I found really helpful in my recovery. Take care

I feel like if I eat anything, I'm going to throw up. Not because I make myself, not because I'm sick, but because I don't like the feeling of food being inside my stomach.

@ScreamingForSanity - I can relate to that feeling, but I also know how important it is to nourish your body. Is there something that you can eat that doesn't feel quite as bad in your stomach?

Nope, because I'd much rather be unhealthy by not eating than to put calories into my body. I know that I'm eating and it makes me sick.

I feel like I've had an eating disorder for such a long time I don't really know what's normal? Like I never starved myself, but I ate very veery little portions and was very strict about what and when I ate. During my recovery I upped everything and was all happy, but now the thought is coming back to me like I eat way too much now?

@AbbyCDEFG - I can relate so much. With my eating disorder, I lost my normal hunger and fullness cues, which made it so much harder to understand what amount I should be eating. If you're concerned about it, it might help to talk to a nutritionist and follow a rough meal plan that they set. They can provide an objective recommendation that you can be sure isn't secretly your eating disorder telling you what's right. Take care

I had a minor breakdown because a coworker noticed how little I eat and seemed kind of concerned. It made me feel... damaged. I know I've come a long way in the past two years but lately it's been hard to see that. I feel like I'm back at square one and I'm tired.

@enthusiasticblackberry3865 - It makes sense to feel tired after fighting for so long, but try not to let your coworker's comments make you feel like you haven't made progress. Just because there is more to do doesn't meant you haven't done amazing things already. You can make a list of all the things you have succeeded at or gained in recovery. Are there things you can do now that you couldn't before? Have you successfully changed certain habits or behaviors? Give yourself something to look at to remember that you have done enormous things already. Take care
