Hi. This is really difficult as I have never spoken about this before to anyone. I deny it to everyone, including myself, in fact, I am open about other problems I have apart from this one. I think I have Bulimia, as hard as that is to say and I even feel ill writing it because I have denied it for about 4-5 years. When I was younger I was taught that food was good and would get rewarded with it, thus came my binging problem where I would consume as much as I could. Yet if I ate too much I was called greedy by my mum and made to feel disgusting by my family. In Turkish culture being skinny is praised so I never felt like I fit the criteria, being constantly compared to your prettier, skinnier cousins doesn't help either. In the end, I weighed 11 stone 11 pounds at the age of 11. One day in front of all of my peers a girl called me a fat pig whilst we were all eating... I was 11 and refused to eat for 3 days until I became dizzy. Then when I got to secondary school I was constantly bullied, I was called, useless, stupid and that I would be better off dead. Talking to a teacher about this she explained to me how it was going on for a year and if it is not them to blame, it was my fault. on the streets, I was called fat and ugly by groups of random boys so I would not go out unless I had to. I was then shamed in front of my whole class by my bully. I was told "get away from me, you're disgusting!'. That night I went home, stripped naked and sat on the spare room floor and cried whilst I binged around 2000 calories. This was the first time I purged. I was 13.

This is my life now. I'm 17 and this is the only way I know how to cope. I lost around 2 1/2 stone in a few months and people praised me for it so I kept doing it... and I still do. I feel so ugly constantly and even though I have people, including my boyfriend telling me that I'm pretty and fine the way I am I just can't believe them. my mum knew I was doing this and instead of helping me, she shamed me. So I don't feel comfortable telling anyone because I will be told that this is my fault and I can overcome this myself... but it's been this long and I can't do it. It's too difficult and I pray no one has to endure this like I have because suffering in silence and not even admitting it to yourself is awful.

I'm not asking you to read all of this but writing it down has really helped me get it off my chest. I have just eaten cake and pasta and I have the urge to 'get rid of it' and the guilt is killing me. please help. Thanks for listening, you are the only ones who have

Hey! I'm 16 and I used to have anorexia. I've mostly recovered now apart from a few relapses. If anyone ever needs someone to talk to, feel free to send me a message.

Hi,

Im currently under a lot of stress as I'm studying for my A Levels. I've suffered with OCD for as long as I can remember and this has always affected my eating as I struggle to cope with the germs on cutlery and glasses at restaurants.

I'm struggling particularly badly with one of my subjects and it makes me feel overwhelmed and out of control. I think this is why I've turned to these obsessive eating habits. I went through a phase of binge eating crisps and sweets last year as I went through a lot of mental health issues but I felt guilty when a friend commented on my unhealthy diet. Since then I've limited what I allow myself to eat. I now count calories obsessively and I've been eating around 400-500 calories per day for about a month. I know it's unhealthy but the guilt is overwhelming if I allow myself to eat anything more. I starve myself during the day and only eat from around 6 in the evening. I feel uncomfortable eating around other people as I'm scared that they'll judge what I'm eating. I haven't eaten at college for about 2 months and I prefer eating at home when I'm by myself.

I've recently opened up to a teacher I trust and she is doing her best to support me. She has suggested I speak to my head of year (who I'm very close with) but I don't feel comfortable doing that yet. I don't want to worry her but I'm also scared to increase the amount that I'm eating. I'm concerned that my fast approaching exams will make me spiral out of control.

Hello

ive been bingeing a lot recently and feeling so ashamed and guilty afterwards. I've been stressed about this - crying even. I also am not proud of my body and shape. I haven't told anyone and I need support and to talk anonymously as I don't feel comfortable sharing with anyone I know. I think I may be showing some signs of bulimia nervosa but I'm not too sure. If anyone can help or tell me what I'm suffering.

Hello

i have been bingeing lots recently and I'm not exactly proud of my body and shape. I feel guilty and ashamed of my actions yet I keep finding myself back bingeing. I think I have been showing signs of bulimia nervosa but I'm not too sure. I'm very anxious about this and have cried over it. I haven't told anyone I know and I wanted to talk anonymously and get support to see if anyone can help me understand what I'm feeling.

Hi my name is Thea and I have EDNOS. I've been binging/purging since I was ten and in the past few years I have really struggled with not eating, I constrantly have to make myself eat. I'm seeing a therapist which is really helping, but it's a long journey. If anyone would like to ask questions/discuss their story/ask for help coping please feel free to message me!

I'm Payton, a 7 Cups intern smiley I chose to specialize in the Eating Disorder forum because I myself have had BED, anorexia and bulimia in the past, and struggle with disordered eating to this day. It's improved a lot through treatment though and I am so excited to see where this goes.

Hey Payton, it is really amazing what you do here... updating chats and disscusions sp people have a safe place to talk.

I am Sara and i feel quite silly right now... but i believe i could have some kind of eating disorder. I have been like this like 2 years and now more than ever.

I dont consider myself blind, actually i see i am way too skinny. The thing is i like it, i like to feel my stomatch empty, to prove myself how 'strong' i can be without eating... sometimes it feels wrong but it is all in the numbers! I cannot see the scale go up! It makes me see a fat girl in the mirror even so i can notice my bones!

Sorry i got a bit emotional... i think i just needed to share it with people who can understand me.

Thanks for your time, see you all around!

Hey, I'm Jess.

I'm 17 and have struggled with eating issues since 2014..I think. I'm not diagnosed with an eating disorder, a lot of the time I think that there is no problem. A couple of years ago a teacher told me I was anorexic, which wasn't true according to the therapist she referred me to, who straight up told me that I "do not have an eating disorder" because I am "at a healthy weight" and because she said that I felt that I didn't need help because there was no problem so I lied my way out of there but 2 years later I'm back :/ however this time I'm seeing someone who I think I can build a trusting relationship with. I can't exactly diagnose myself but I 'fit' into the EDNOS/OSFED - atypical anorexia.

I've decided to be more open and honset towards those who want to help me because I don't want to be like this. I want to be happy, healthy and like the way my body is. I don't know if I ever will like my body but I'll try :)

@Bubblysmile - I'm so proud of you for making that decision to fight for your own health and happiness! Because you do deserve that and you deserve support from those around you. And for what it's worth, while I can't speak to your specific situation, anyone who tells you that you can't have an eating disorder if you're at a healthy weight is full of crap! The weight is not the only defining feature, nor is it a real way to tell if someone is healthy or not.

If you ever need some extra support, don't hesitate to reach out! :)
