Introduce yourself to the 7 Cups Eating Disorder Community!
Hello everyone! I have been recovering from bulimia for the past 3 years and I am here because recent events are threatening my recovery and bringing me back to my old eating patterns.
My name's Bethany and I'm 15. I can't stop eating. I starve my self some times and then I eat alot. I'm currently 169 lbs and I'm 5 foot tall. All I see when I look in the mirror is a fat girl. I avoid mirrors. My boyfriend tells me I'm perfect size but I feel fat. I make my self throw up sometimes. What's wrong with me? ?
Hi everyone, I'm Liz. I have an EDNOS and some of my family members also have EDs. I grew up thinking everyone thought like this and everything my family did was normal. I now know that recovery is possible.
Hi Liz, I'm glad you see now that recovery is possible. Glad you are here!
Hi my name isbeth! I've struggled with binge eating, bulimia, chew and spit disorder and anorexia-subtype. Please feel free to message me if you are stuggling. I'm happy to help talk about a recovery plan and give you some coping skills.
Hi Beth. Glad you have joined the 7 Cups community. I worked in eating disorder treatment and am familiar with the struggles you are going through. I am here is you need someone to talk to.
I am 16, 5'4", 218 pounds and was just recently diagnosed with BED. I've had trouble with food in the past due to abuse. I used to starve myself, now I just binge to numb out. I have a doctor's appointment today and I'm very nervous about going because I don't want to be told I'm fat.
I'm in the exact position. It's gotten a bit better but I still have my days. I'm going to join a sport so I don't pack on the pounds. What I've learned is 6 meals. 3 small meals and 3 small snacks. Eat around 1,700 calories a day so divide that number and try to be a bit active. Do laundry, clean , take a walk. This is not a diet. It helps you maintain your weight and helps with the binging . You cannot diet, I repeat you cannot go on a diet if your still struggling with binging. Diets usually trigger us to binge big time after a quick fallback. It does us more bad than good. First we must learn to handle our binging then we can start about"diet" but it won't be a diet, it will be a lifestyle change. We have to overcome this. Most people with BED will be obese as they get older. I started myself and was about 140 then something happened and I couldn't control myself . I gained about 60 pounds in like 5 months.via haven't gained weight in about three months but haven't lost any. We have to overcome this. We can. Anything is possible . I know how hard it is. Some people are addicted to drugs and alcohol but are addiction is food. I have faith in you and it takes time. If you need some support you can msg me !
Hi, I just turned 16 yesterday and have been struggling with really bad self-esteem for as long as I can remember. When I turned 12 that's when I stopped eating or if I ate I would guilt trip myself into puking. I relapse so much thatthe point of saying that imclean is pointless and i still obsess over my weight even if it's a healthy way. I sometimes don't eat for a day or two than i look in my fridge and binge on junk food. Other than that I work out and eat lots of fruits and veggies but I am scared to weigh myself. I know most people think that it sounds like I am in recovery because I eat but I'm not. I still obsess over how much i weigh, how many calories I eat, how long I work out at the gym. I hate it. I still look at myself in the mirror and hate myself. I am so self conscious out my breasts that i cover them even when i am in the shower or changing. How can I improve my self image and also remain healthy without obsessing?
Its a really hard journey but you have to be proud that you have accomplished small steps. Don't give up. It's hard . But you can do it. Focus on being healthy , eating the right amount of calories and being a bit active. It's a struggle but you can make it!
I'm 13 and I'm 5 footin height, I'm 6 stone and I feel really fat, I've only recently developed this self hate
Hi - I'm 46, 6 years in recovery (not recovered yet but getting there). I struggledwith anorexia for 25 years. I went into the hospital one time (at 40) and knew if I did not go all in with recovery I wasn't going to make. I did it for me - not for my kids, not for the doctors, not for anyone else. I still struggle during stressful times, and the issues are very real - the same issues as always funny enough. The difference is asking myself do I want to let ED control me or am I going to control ED? I win 9 times out of 10 and it keeps me going on the recovery path (few slips and falls).
Stay strong. Being in the driver's seat is freeing.
Hello,
So, I have been struggling with disordered eating for about 4 1/2 years now (I'm 18) but was diagnosed with Bulimia nervosa last year.
Honestly, I don't feel like I have bulimia. At first I was in complete denial about having an ED at all, but now, I just feel like it was a mis-diagnosis.
Right now I am probably at my lowest point in my ED while being at home. I have lost a significant amount of weight in a few weeks almost a month and have been purging every single day, restrict calories and work out constantly. At my lowest point in ED last year, I was on an all Ensure diet. I ate no solid foods for over a month.
I just feel like my ED isn't "that bad" because I'm not at my lowest weight, or I'm not n treatment, or on an all liquid diet. It's sort of discouraging in an odd and morbid way. I want to be smaller and I want to fit a certain categoryi guess. I don't want to not know exactly what is wrong with me. I have been mis-diagnosedwith so many things like schizophrenia, and OCD in the past and it isn't helpful at all when you figure out that that isn't your problem.
Hope all is well for everyone, and thanks for listening.
I don't know if the voice in my head is my own anymore, or if it's Ana taking over. I went for a 5KM walk today, when I normally go about 6 to 7 km in an afternoon. This week I've walked 23 or so kilometers and every part of my body hurts.
On the run, I felt pain in my legs, which is a bad sing as I am currently a ballroom dancer and I can't hurt my legs this close to a competition. So I skipped the last little loop and I swear the voice in my head laughed at me and called me weak. I hate my body so much and I am in so much pain.
I ate today and it's about 1000 calories in total, I try not to count calories but I reinstalled this app on my phone. I feel like such a pig because I ate...
Do you have any tips for me? I have been trying to loose weight but whenever I try I just end up gaining more wait from binging and stuff like that.i am currently at 95lbs I'd like to be at 80lbs or less. How long do you think that would take
This isn't a pro ana post you should ask for tips to continue and promote your disorder this is a place of healing and recovery.
