Dysfunctional family
Hello all, I'm new and needing to vent. The issues are, I'm married and have two grown boys(from previous marriage) and we are doing financially bad and living in a very small home. My husband has a issue with my boys not being more than what they can be with him, they are very timid and stay to themselves in their rooms or amongst each other. My husband takes it personally that they don't want to have a real relationship with him, all they do is say hi or bye, in passing from room to room in the house. So now he avoids even speaking to them, by staying in the bedroom whenever they are up for the day! Also, I'm the one he complains to, because I am their mother, and this issue comes up mainly when we are having a disagreement about something that has absolutely nothing to do with my boys. I am so stressed 😫

It sounds like it's very stressful to be in the middle of your boys' feelings and your husband's feelings. May I ask how long you have been married and how old were your children when you were married? Do the boys already have a father figure in their lives? Forming a bond as a step parent to older children can be done but it will take effort from all of the men in your life to find some commonalities to build respect and trust. I can't imagine how it feels to see your husband disappear when you children visit only to bring it up his feelings when there is a disagreement. Is your husband willing to talk with you about it when you are both more relaxed?
