Generational baggage
Hi all,
Thank you for your time in reading this :)
I grew up in a family culture that is quite different from society. There is a bunch of fear factoring into when I grew up, and it doesn't help that my views doesn't align with what's to them. They provide a lot of empty threats, which I won't list down, especially when I was younger.
Now as I'm an adult, with a (decent paying) job, they backed down, but they still treat me as the black sheep. I'm not sure how to proceed with them to have a better relationship, because right now I feel that I don't want to do anything with them and their culture. I do not have the means to move out at this moment, I don't have reliable transportation.
@bananasOnBread I think you should move out as fast as you can when you have that ability, seriously.
I agree you need to move out fast. Try and find a roommate to cut costs. It may be temporary having a roommate but you need to get out. Possibly be a sitter for an elderly person and get room and board when you are not working? I am sorry you are treated this way. YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD. Remember that. I need to listen to those words as well because I am feeling like nobody listens to me and it gets so old not being able to speak my ideas, thoughts without someone in my family knocking them down or telling me I should NOT give advice. Hang in there and get out NOW!!!
God bless you and say a prayer to find an answer of where you should go live. It WILL work out.
