I want to help my dad but i don't know how..
Sorry if my english is bad ^_^🙏
I don't know from to start but i'll try to explain the sitiuation
So when i was a child my mom and big sister would spend spend the whole time with me and my dad was in his work most of the day and i didn't grow up with him we talk rarely and so secretive , i don't remeber him praiseng me from his heart but its okay i know he is not a feeling person and our relation was bad according to father and daughter normal relation, sadly i realise this now when he lost his job and started to be in the house more time anyway
My dad just become depressed when he lost his job and my family are trying their best to make him feel good but i think whatever ther trying its just on its time and he come back sad again
The real proplem start here:
My dad isolating himself with his phone in a dark room all the time or just sleep the half of the day we tried to make him talk about everything that makes him sad but he takes it personality and become lore sad and refused to talk
We tried to persuading him to go out like a family but he refuse bacause of money
And the most thing that makes it hard to me to talk to him is that he doesn't like try new things EVER and when i try to make him do he just say that he doesn't want and this things is for kids and NO and i'm emotional so i cancel the plan even my family lose hope in it and its like my dad was stuck in the same time from a 10 years i want to help him but talking with him is very hard he is so quiet and looks uncomfortable with his own family and we are so diffirent from each other i mean my mom and sister talk to him more than i do but i'm just a bit scared and had nothing to talk with him and in the same time i want to help him living his life more because the life isn't endind when your job is ended RIGHT i need some advice to deal with it please ;-;
Language is never a barrier , your feelings are understood well @hayochan .
It is good to know you're so concerned about your father , truly touching.
It seems losing job has really impacted him, in his age being used to something for so long and then losing it , means to earn and losing a schedule can all be very challenging to go through .
Relationships can be build over time , he's your dad after all , you can try and take small steps to talk to him, spend time with him . You all tried so much and it sounds like he is being very distant , I understand how difficult it makes everything.
But he's a human too and he was once young too , encourage him to do what he loved to do before , be out not to spend money etc but maybe outdoor yoga or walk in parks or streets .
If you know any of his close friends, maybe give them a call and see if they can come over to cheer him up .
Be a friend to him yourself , let him know you are here to listen and understand what he is feeling . Assure him that he can find another job , maybe even help him apply for new jobs , enrol in some courses of his choice till the time etc ways to utilise the time he spends home less in phone and alone, and more being with family and friends, and doing things he enjoys.
I hope this could help . Good luck .
You are a wonderful kid to your parents. 🥰
