Need some support

My teen girl is controlling me mentally and physically.

She is full of anxiety and depression, has talked about wanting to due, but has no plan at the moment.

I have had her in doc, hospital, and starting therapy, although the process is so slow.

She hates me and her dad. He is a narcissist and I chose a new gaslight narc as a second husband (he is now gone) but my blinded poor choice has caused more pain.

She is having an anxiety attack because her BF had somewhere to be and she doesn't want to be stuck with me, so now he is missing his activity. He is just a teen who has his own family crud going on. I can't exactly call her on this tonight because I do not want to invalidate her need for help, but she is Taking advantage of her need and until her therapy starts I don't have the skills to fully help her. There is a reason a therapist goes to school, I went for something else.

I am so hurt myself by her behavior and I am currently internalizing it to not add to it all. ugh

Please any loving guidance this evening would be welcome!

Parenting is so hard... I made so many mistakes myself. Don't look back in the past, but give your kid as much love as you can now. We can all hope to be good enough...

@sadmama314 I am sorry that sounds really overwhelming. Are you able to get a counselor for yourself? It's really great you have therapy for your teen lined up; I really hope it will help. As somebody who had really overbearing parents, I think teenagers mostly want to be heard and be empathized with and to have a sense of agency and independence in ways that they can. At the same time, you deserve to take care of herself and maybe you can express to her as a heart to heart that her experience and needs are valid but you are also feeling overwhelmed and need some me time.

I really like MrChazz on social media. He talks a lot about parenting.
