Coparenting with A Narcissist
Hello All,
Mom to a 15 year old daughter with special needs. On top of that coparenting with a narcissist.
My daughter’s brain damage is so complex and makes parenting different than how I could parent my older child. Her perception is her truth and no reasoning or logic works in the moment of elevated emotions. She seems to have started mimicking some of the behaviors of her dad toward me. Or accusing me of using behavior she has learned is narcissistic.
Anyone else go through this?

That sounds like such a challenging situation co-parenting with may be a partner that isn't supportive and a child with different needs. I haven't personally been in this kind of situation, though I will say I am a child of a narcissistic father. What did help me and what I also wished was... having different experiences with healthier adults, safety away from him (more structure too), less triangulation with him, and education on what is healthy communication and relationship dynamics. I know I'm speaking from a different point of view, but I'm hoping something is helpful to take away.
