Family overload.
When is it ok to not be mom for 5 minutes, or an hour? Just to have a moment where you aren't being pulled in 4 different directions. When does the feeling of failure stop?
I have had to cut communication with my eldest child because they demonizes me as the cause of everything bad that has ever happened to them (most of which were self inflicted by their own actions), which has sadly cut me off from my grand child.
My 2nd eldest is in inpatient therapy right now for their internal dialog and ptsd which is linked to eldest child's narcissistic actions from youth to now.
My 3rd child is seemingly normal (thank goodness) but I wait for that hat to fall.
My 4th child is LGBTQ+ and we live in a very anti alt gender state so legally I can't even get them the therapies they need to be their authentic self because it is illegal. Plus I have to fight the school for their basic needs.
None of this was in the parenting handbook. I feel cheated and under qualified to deal with these big emotions that seem to come at me everyday from 4 different angles.
As the old commercial used to say... "calgon take me away!"

You should just take time for yourself .... your kids are grown and and good ,bad or indifferent......... as parents we do the best we can but in the end......... we cannot control their actions or reactions.
In the building i work in there are a few therapists and in the lobby a magazine was left on the table i read one day when i was on break ... there was a quote that has played over and over in my mind
" many parents have done things they maybe should not have .. BUT focusing on blaming them is NOT going to get you where you want to be"
this is a good item for all grown kids and people experiencing issues ........trying to put on their parents....
