Full Plate, Heavy Heart
Hi everyone,
I’m new to this community and feeling pretty lost right now. I’m a mom caring for a child with complex health issues and severe anxiety, all while working full-time from home and navigating a strained marriage. It’s been an overwhelming journey trying to balance my child’s needs, my other children’s needs, my job, my relationship struggles, and my own well-being.
Some days, it feels like I’m barely keeping it together. I often put my children’s needs ahead of my own to the point where I forget to care for myself at all. I’m looking for a safe space where I can be honest about the emotional ups and downs without guilt or judgment.
One of my little ones has the most medical challenges, but they’re not my only focus—I have multiple children at home, as well as grown kids out in the world. Every day is a balancing act between appointments, home life, work deadlines, relationship stress, and trying to hold space for everyone’s needs (including mine… when I remember).
I’m hoping to connect with others who understand what it’s like to walk this difficult path, to share stories, and to find encouragement—even in the small moments.
Thank you for having me here. 💛

Your words carry a tremendous weight of responsibility and boundless love. Being a mother to a child with complex health needs, in addition to working and caring for other children and your marriage, is incredibly exhausting. It's clear you are living under constant pressure and conflicting emotions, and no one would blame you for feeling lost and worn out at times. Every moment of your life is dedicated to serving others, which causes you to forget your own needs. This is a difficult journey that requires immense strength, and your presence here is a wonderful first step toward acknowledging your right to support. You are not alone in this struggle, and many people completely understand what you are going through. We hope you find a warm and compassionate community here, one that feels like the family you're looking for. May your heart be filled with peace and your strength be renewed each day. You are an amazing mother, and you are doing the best you can.
Thank you so much for such a kind and understanding response. Your words really touched me and made me feel seen in a way I didn’t even realize I needed. It means a lot to know someone understands how heavy this season is. I’m so grateful for the encouragement—you’ve given me a little extra strength to keep going today.

Awww 🥺🥺❤️❤️🌷🌷
Omg I don't know how to reply all your kindness words 💙💙💙🥺
I am really glad that my words make you feel seen. I am glad for you too, to share with us and be inspiring for us
Thanks
I hope you find at least 5 minutes a day to have some time for yourself, even if it's just hiding in the bathroom. You cannot help others if you are run down. My husband became disabled when we were in our 30s and our income dropped drastically, and i was trying to do it all... I didn't take care of myself and i had a stroke. Please, please take some time for yourself everyday, and please don't be afraid to ask for help. Maybe ask someone if they can run errands for you, or for a sitter, or if they can pick up a grocery v order. Any little thing that can help you out take something off your plate.
Your story and struggles sound quite similar to my own, while I'm sure a little different. With school starting it is a treacherous, but exciting time for us now.
