True Love?
I am confused to say the least. I am not good at comprehending emotions, social cues and the sorts so I can't tell if I am being manipulated or not. Of course, I don't want to think my parents would so such a thing, but their actions aren't matching their words. They say they love me, but they refuse to change. I am the youngest of my siblings yet my role in the family is basically the parent. My parents have said time and time again, that the burden they are shoving on my shoulders is not healthy and unfair. Yet, no changes are made. I cook, clean, change diapers, babysit, and do school with occasional help. The responsibility of it all started taking a physical toll on my body but still nothing changed. Honestly, I feel trapped because I can't just leave. I feel like my family relies so much on me, it's annoying but if I don't cook no one's going to eat. If I don't clean the house will stay dirty, and I'll get yelled at. I would assume my parents love me, but why do this to me? Especially when you come out and say it's wrong and you can see me breakdown from the stress. Is it real love or am is my mental and physical health not important? I just don't get it.
There are a lot of things which keep relationships going apart from a warmth, which some of us call love. Someone I loved once told me just love is never enough, but it should be right? You are supposed to be by the person you love. Personally, I feel love is so much more. It is the warm affection, it is respect, it is in care and kindness. At the end of the day we still wonder if we are loved? I feel the best thing we can do is love ourselves too. Pamper oneself from time to time. You will never have enough love for everyone all the time, but you can only lift someone up if you are up yourself!
As a side note if you feel you are being abused in any way do contact necessary authorities.
Warm regards,
Kal.

It can sometimes seem like if we do not do everything ... it will all fall apart and perhaps in the short term it will.
The reality is people Change when they want to.... or circumstances force them to.
It is easy for them to have you do all the work.......... and then saying "we love you" is an easy way to keep you doing it because it is family ... they love me etc... That IMO is manipulation not love.
it is hard to accept but sometimes even with close family parents or if older even kids who now LOVE based on how much you DO for them. your family will find a way to eat .... and will grow old of living in filth. This is great grooming for you to be a people pleaser and being used in employment and future relationships....as well
