Storytelling and it's 4 p's (Discussion)

Storytelling is the process of using fact and narrative to communicate something to your audience. Some stories are factual, and some are embellished or improvised in order to better explain the core message. While this definition is pretty specific, stories actually resemble a variety of things.

The Four P's that are mentioned in every story: People, Place, Plot, and Purpose.

People:- Characters are what make us emotionally invested in a story. You'll want your audience to root for your protagonists and against your antagonists.

Place:- Location can add depth and intrigue to your characters and story, and can visually communicate a great amount of information in a short period of time.

Plot:- Every piece, even a commercial, needs a conflict to drive the narrative. That doesn't mean every story needs a villain. Conflict and tension can come in many varieties.

Purpose:- “Know what you need to say before you speak.” Throughout the production process it's important to always be going back to this essential purpose, reminding yourself why you're telling this story and why others will care about it.

Activity 1) Make a short story with shapes (such as circles, triangles etc) and correlate it to the 4 p's you learnt today!
