How do you deal with the end of a friendship while also still having to be in the same mutual space as that friend?

in my experience I was in the same classroom as them for the rest of the year, so I guess that counts as a mutual space? I was still nice to them like I said hello if I saw them sometimes but otherwise ignored them and focused on finding new friends, maybe joining clubs of my interests. hope this helped a little bit and good luck 💙
