I feel like when I share things with my friends they think the worst about the situation. It dampers my mood as I’m a hopeful person. Are they even good friends or toxic? I took in a friend to live with me to help her out temporarily, and she has some issues, and it can be somewhat annoying but at the end of the day I’m happy to help my friend and hopeful for the situation. I filled my friend in on the situation, and she’s all like I hope she moves out when she’s suppose to and needs to take responsibility. It kinda hurt because I felt like she was just bashing my friend, and I’m trying to be hopeful about the situation, and I feel like she’s focusing on the negatives. Which I feel is not okay.

i started talking with this guy and shared doubts with my other friend, and all she said or says is well maybe it’s not meant to be. It just feels negative to me instead of support. It was still new in the relationship and everything and he’s someone I want to pursue. The way I took her comment was well what’s the point of trying if it’s not meant to be.

@Mre605 Hi love bug! Sounds like your friends are just in a different mindset or have different values than yourself. It's great that you let your friend stay at your place to have somewhere to go, that's a good thing that I think many people would appreciate from their own friends if they were in a similar situation. I think your friend maybe just doesn't see the good in it, she's probably just a more negative person like you said. I wouldn't take it personally cause I think what you're doing is very admirable.

Maybe if it's still bothering you how she responded you could tell her it upset you and you were just trying to help your friend have somewhere to stay for a bit. As long as your friend isn't abusing your kindness I don't see any problem with it! As for the guy topic, it seems like she's trying to look out for your feelings but just doesn't know how to respond in a more hopeful way, for her it just comes out as seeing the worst outcome if that makes sense. If you're content with how the relationship is going and you're communicating your doubts with your partner, then it's up to you to decide to keep it going. She's a person on the outside you look to for advice or a listening ear, but she's not you, so it's your decision in the end.

I don't know if this helped or just rewrote what you said but I hope things work out!

@Gracehh21 thank you for your response it’s much appreciated. With my friend I just basically reiterated that it’s been nice having here, and Im happy to help my friend in need. At this point I’m over it, but it’s not the first time they have come at me in a negative way. I just feel like these friendships are no longer serving me and it’s hard to navigate what to do.
