My friend overwhelms me.
I have a friend. We've been close but recently she became extremely snappy, which made it hard to deal with her. I did mention she was affecting my mental health. She would cross my boundaries and made me feel extremely bad for not responding to her messages when I'm having a hard time with life. She would always spam me and snap if I respond slow. If I didn't respond for days she would be angry. I get extremely anxious from her behaviour and I result to flight response. I think she has an anxious attachment style and it overwhelms me since I also have anxiety. I want to end the friendship sometimes because I feel anxious but I feel bad for her and I care about her a great deal so I don't know what to do.

From what it sounds like perhaps a serious conversation discussing this with her may be warranted. I know you did that before but her not being able to respect certain boundaries doesn't sound like a friend to me. It sounds like a difficult situation and I hope you're able to find a solution. Wishing the best.
@considerateTurtle5368 I used to have a friend who always seems to outdo me on problems. When I say I have anxiety, depression, talk about my life, she always seems to have more worse news. She say's I'm lucky I have parents and she doesn't. She says I'm luckier since I have a good supportive boyfriend. It's like my problems are nothing compared to her. I've given her all my support despite her creating her own drama. It's tiring not to be respected and appreciated. It's better to slowly cut off these people. We should learn how to love and respect ourselves just like how we would be to a true friend.
Hey, I might be late, but here we go. Nobody is a perfect friend and it's not possible that you'd expect your friend to never hurt you ever. Things just go out of hand sometimes. It seems like you both are going through a hard time. If she might possibly have anxious attachment style then it's better to tell her about how you need some time alone in person, if possible (it's hard to convey your needs over text properly).
If you're close to her, then you disappearing suddenly will obviously make her anxious, as close friends care for every little thing about each other. From her pov, she needs reassurance, and as you mentioned, you care about her so just cutting her off over anxiety will hurt you both. Remember don't let your emotions control your life.
