Realizing I'm friendless
At 51 years old I'm realizing I'm friendless. Other than my wife (who I'm thankful for!) I have no true friends. Sure I have business associates but no real friends. I've been massively struggling in business and super busy in my personal life the past month and a half and have missed attending my usual networking groups and also church for three straight weeks as well as a couple of other service meetings I typically attend. Zero calls to see whats going on. Crickets. Silence. Nothing.
I've felt this way for awhile now and am a bit embarrassed to admit it, but at my age I'm not sure how to go about making new friends. Years ago we were super involved in church and had a decent group of friends but due to a move, we don't go to that church anymore as it's over an hour away.
Just at a loss as to how to proceed. Life sucks right now and we could use some good people to be around.

This is what the situation of friends has become ....out of sight out of mind...
i call them temporary friends ..while you are working / going to a specific church/ group/ hobby but if someone moves or falls off the radar ..... it must be how fish feel ...if one a buddies bites the hook and pulled away. ..... it is often just real disconnect as they assume you are busy in your own world and you might assume they forgot you or they are busy. In reality more often then not both sides feel lonely and somewhat friendless.
@QuestForAnswers You might reflect on the prayer of St Francis. Find someone to be a friend to.
