Deletion of Thread?
I posted two threads with the same title here but they were broken up into Parts 1 and 2. The first post was deleted which was a shame because I worked hard on that one and I got a response that was helpful and I haven’t been able to get anywhere else.
My best guess is I posted two threads that had similar topics and titles but I’m unclear otherwise after reviewing guidelines for deletion.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
@Sasquatch254
you're not alone, i found that my threads posted were deleted as well :(
Hey hey @Sasquatch254 @Jeremiah29v11
Post deletions are usually notified to the original creators/ posters, unless they fall under certain exceptions like requested deletion, spam, duplicates etc.
Yes, duplicate content and cross-posting (posting the same stuff in multiple communities/ topics) isn’t allowed.
Typically, a forum moderator goes through the content of the post before deleting it if at all needed, in case it breaks any forum guideline.
And I agree with you that if the title was same, and the content was different, that doesn’t come under “duplicate” threads and it shouldn’t have been deleted under this guideline at least.
Feeling confused when you’re not made aware of what even happened is much understandable. It’s indeed a manual job for the forum moderators working behind the scenes to keep our community safe and supportive for all, so at times communication can be a little delayed.
Nevertheless, you deserve to know what’s what and be notified still. And I’m glad you reached out via this thread to seek support with the same. :)
Forum guidelines and moderation policy is explained in this post: https://www.7cups.com/forum/7cupsleadership/General_2420/NewForumModerationPolicy2023UpdatedRepost_296651/
If yall ever have concerns regarding your forum threads being removed or need some clarification about moderation practices, you can always reach out to forum@7cups.com to inquire the same.
In case of an honest mistake by forum moderators, or if the post being unjustly removed, you can always request to get your post reinstated too. 💛
@Sunisshiningandsoareyou
mine pretty much sat without response until last night then it disappears without notice, so i'm not sure * shrug *
less keen to post if this is gonna be the case, seems like only feel good ones stay
@Jeremiah29v11
Aw yes it can be testing at times to wait for responses in the forumland, considering not everyone’s a forum- person or just not that present to come across more posts/ reply to them, or can have different preference for their comfort or liking of certain topics/ communities. Multiple factors, I guess.
It can feel upsetting to be waiting for a response and I get how much more annoying when your thread disappears without notice. 😅
I’ll reiterate though, people deserve to hear when/ why a post is removed. I’d be confused and upset too to see something I wrote just poofing for no good reason known to me. :(
Please do consider reaching out to the forum support for an inquiry on why your post disappeared, you do deserve to be made aware of it. <3
I get how it would make you feel disappointed and do hope your experience in the forums can be better over time, we have different communities here for different kinds of topics, if a feel-good kind is welcome, a more inclined towards seeking support one is too.
Truly all kinds of posts are welcome (and should be welcome), unless ofcourse, something goes explicitly against the forum guidelines.
You’re allowed to share what’s on your mind! 💛
Thank you all so much for not only helping me, but validating me too even with something as commonplace as a thread deletion. This is why I am on 7Cups and even ditched a different forum account recently that I used for much longer!
I sent an email to that address but even if something else happens, I can do this again if needed.
