@affectionateLion9005 Hey there! I have a good personal experience I’d like to share if that’s helpful to your anxiety (if you don’t mind!). I also apologize in advance for this lengthy response.

Although, it’s very important to not self diagnose myself - but I do highly suspect I have some underlying anxiety (social anxiety) regarding myself, that I’d personally like to get possibly checked out for in the future from a healthcare professional to validate my concerns.

Starting off with my experience, it began in the midst of May before me and other kids in our freshman year can get out of school for the Summer, I had an “honors ceremony” to attend after school starting at 6 PM, to get rewarded and recognized for my academic accomplishments that I’ve worked SO hard for, for the entire semesters of my freshman year in high school.

Although I was quite nervous, feeling my body regulate “weirdly” in the moment (that gut feeling, feeling slightly sick, etc) and self conscious of displaying myself in public at the ceremony, I reminded myself what I was attending the ceremony for—which gave myself some positive clarity while also being excited for my awards (trophies) and then practicing my breathing exercise.

When I won my three trophies (two for algebra 1 (both semesters, one for World History), I felt like I achieved the BIGGEST chapter inside of my life that I’ve always wanted to accomplish for myself; academic excellence and success. In my opinion, I felt like that was the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my life and no one can take that away from me (even if they wanted to).

Regardless of my slight nervousness and self consciousness of being in public displayed, I never let that get the best of me nor have I focused on it one bit, on that exact day. I actually felt proud of myself and my achievements. Now, I strive to do better for myself and my well being even though I may: shy away, struggle with socializing, have a suspected fear of public speaking, get nervous, overthink, overanalyze, etc, I will take the initiative for myself along my path and journey.
