Hi, i’m a 20F and i’ve struggled a lot to maintain female friendships ever since I graduated Highschool and i’ve pretty much had only 1-2 friends since graduating. None of the girls are interested in talking to me at my job since we don’t have any similar interests and i’m really struggling with the lack of girl to girl companionship i guess. Does anyone know how i can put myself out there and make some friends at all? I’ll take any ideas

@LielyMon281 Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. It can be challenging to maintain friendships after high school and find people with similar interests, especially in a work environment where connections may not naturally form. However, there are several strategies you can try to put yourself out there and make new friends:

Pursue your interests: Engage in activities or join clubs related to your hobbies or passions. This will provide opportunities to meet like-minded individuals who share your interests.

Attend social events: Look out for social gatherings, community events, or networking opportunities where you can meet new people. Check local listings, join online communities, or ask acquaintances if they know of any upcoming events.

Take a class or join a workshop: Enrol in a course or workshop that aligns with your interests. This not only allows you to learn something new, but also provides an opportunity to meet people who have similar aspirations.

Volunteer: Find a cause or organization that resonates with you and offer your time as a volunteer. This allows you to connect with individuals who share your values and create meaningful friendships while making a positive impact.

Be proactive in socializing: Take the initiative to strike up conversations, invite coworkers or acquaintances for coffee or lunch, and attend after-work gatherings. Sometimes, making the first move can open doors to new friendships.

I hope these suggestions help you in your quest to make new friends. Wishing you all the best in finding meaningful girl-to-girl companionship. If you ever need someone to talk to, feel free to reach out.
