I am trying to share more

Guys, my life has become more exhausting day after day.

I started working when I was 14 years old, and I have continued working until this day. I am now 20 years old. I work around 14 to 15 hours a day. I wake up at 5:00 a.m., before sunrise, and usually finish work around 8:00 p.m. After work, it takes me another 30 to 40 minutes to get home. I work six days a week, and sometimes I work all seven days.

The hardest part is that my salary is very low. It is not enough to solve the many problems and responsibilities I have. I work extremely long hours, but I still feel like I am not getting anywhere. Sometimes I feel physically and mentally exhausted, but I keep going because I need to support myself and help my family.

Another painful part of my life is the difficulty of finding opportunities. In my experience, finding a good job in Somalia is not always based on how experienced or qualified you are. Clan and tribal identity can have a major influence on opportunities. Even someone with a university degree can struggle to find a job if they do not belong to a powerful or majority clan.

Because I come from a minority community, I have experienced and witnessed discrimination. Sometimes before people even get to know your personality or your character, they ask you which clan you belong to. If you tell them you are from a minority community, their attitude can suddenly change. Some people humiliate us insult our ancestors, or make us feel ashamed of our identity.

There are also situations where people from minority communities can face difficulties when trying to rent a home or move to a new area because they may be asked for a guarantor or face other barriers. I have also witnessed situations in schools where minority students were treated unfairly or punished even when they were not guilty.

One of the most painful things is the fear that discrimination creates in people's hearts. Sometimes, people feel they have to hide their real identity or even claim a clan identity that does not belong to them simply to avoid humiliation or trouble in public.

I have also seen how difficult relationships can become when people come from different clan backgrounds. In some families and communities, falling in love with someone from a different clan can create serious conflict and even put people's safety at risk. That is why many people have to be extremely careful about their personal relationships.

I am tired of living with these limitations and constantly feeling that my future depends on things I cannot control.

But despite everything I have experienced, I was raised by good parents, and I still believe that my life can become better. I do not want to spend my whole life working extremely long hours for a very low salary with no clear path forward.

I want an opportunity to learn, work, grow, and build a better future. I want to prove what I can do based on my character, determination, and abilitie ot simply where I come from.

I am still young and I still have dreams. I hope that one day I will find a better job, build a good life, and have the opportunity to meet people who will see me for who I truly am.

Right nowI feel stuck in my country, with very limited opportunities and sometimes very little hope. But I am still trying. I have not given up on my future.
