Is it alright to become (sexual) friends with my ex? A part of me feels that it’s wrong and a sign that I don’t have self respect, but a part of me feels that it’s nice.
We dated for 5 years and broke up, and we’re not seeking a relationship with anybody else so far anyways. And we’re not planning on getting back together just yet.

it is not about right or wrong ......they are either an EX or not ... if you are just sex friends, someone will take it as more. Someone may get hurt. So many talk a big game of being able to separate the 2 but in the end they are either lying to themselves or to their "friend".
if you are in an intimate relationship with a past partner you will not feel need to move on so either be honest that it is an attempt to reconcile or cut ties and move on
