I wish I'd never met a best friend

My best-friend growing up was the most toxic friend in the world. Too bad I didn't realize it until she took a knife and dug out my back with it. I don't know if I will ever forgive her for what she did to me.

That sounds incredibly painful—both emotionally and, based on how you described it, physically as well. I’m so sorry you went through that. Realizing that someone you trusted, especially a childhood best friend, was toxic is already a heavy burden. But to have them betray you in such a deep way must have left scars that go beyond the surface. ❤️

It makes complete sense that you don’t know if you’ll ever forgive her. Forgiveness is complicated, and after such a deep betrayal, it’s okay to feel the weight of what happened. You don’t have to force yourself to let go before you’re ready—your feelings are valid, and healing looks different for everyone.

If you want to talk more about it, feel free to share. Whether it's processing what happened, figuring out how to move forward, or just venting—we are here for you. ❤️

@Remina I don't even know if I can put into words how dastardly the betrayal was, over and over again. Because after she initially betrayed me, it's like it gave her a natural high or something. She lied on me and slandered my name for many many years because I wouldn't rekindle the friendship. But every time I would try and allow her back in my life, she would stab me in my back again. She acts sad because we're not friends, but she doesn't love me: she hates me, and it took a long time for me to recognize that she is just down right deranged. It hurts because she was a crucial part of my life back then. As friends do, we planned to always be there for each other. I miss her, but after all that she has done I have mixed emotions. I wouldn't care if she died today.

Of course it hurts. It sounds like she really did a number on you! I’m sorry to hear how bad she was. I understand why you would stop caring about her. Sounds like she got enjoyment from your pain! @SociableBeechwood9106

@Remina if it wasn't such an unusual situation I would tell it right here, but it's so much of a rare occurrence if not a once in a lifetime thing that everyone in the world would say 'o I know exactly who beechwood is!' 🤣🤣🤣 but o yes that strumpet did a HUGE one on me. I will spend the rest of my life recovering from her damage it seems. Trusting someone that you shouldn't can really leave you like a cat in a washing machine.

That sounds horrible. Again, I am sorry to hear that she did that. No one deserves that type of betrayal. I can understand how it would affect your ability to trust now. What do you think would help ease your pain?

Hi newbie here :)🩷✨

I just wanted to say you seem like a genuinely kind and caring person. People like you who truly value others often end up getting hurt the most and it’s just not fair.

If you ever feel like talking about your friendship or anything else I’m here. I’ve lost two of my closest friends because of betrayal and the pain of hidden competition people pretending while secretly pushing me away.. It’s been hard and I’m still trying to come to terms with what it means to lose people you trusted the most.

I know how deeply it hurts, especially when you really value friendship. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever want to chat. And truly, I’m so sorry for what you went through. You didn’t deserve that.

@amicableLunch964 thanks so much. I will definitely be reaching out. I just signed up yesterday so I'm still learning how to use the site, but I appreciate knowing I can talk to you. And I'm sorry for the hurt you experienced too. Fake friendship is the worst.
