A friend ??Is that what I am....

Its really painful when you are always the back up friend for everyone and you know it ..this is not the first time and im not a stranger to this pain..its been more like a friend who comes from time to time to remind me that its still there close to my heart though I try to forget it ...A friend who brings tears and sadness along and leaves me there in the dark corner ....but its still more loyal at least It stays by my side when no one else is...even today It came to visit me brought its companions and stayed by me and reminded me how I was abt to forget It..and just so that I wouldn't forget it, It brought a new companion guess who??memories the long gone memories i forgot.. "the times we spent together "It said never will I let you forget me ...nor I will forget you my dear ..and left me in the corner.. my friends are nowhere to be seen ..

It comes when It knows im alone in the room and nobody is there to interrupt us..My dear friend...

@LemonPine5237

I can feel the loneliness behind your words. Feeling like a backup friend can be incredibly painful.

When we feel lonely for a long time, it is easy to focus only on the people who have hurt or disappointed us and forget that they do not define our worth. We can work on how we view ourselves and our relationships. We can train our minds not to let others' behaviour affect us so deeply. If a few current friendships have disappointed you, it doesn't mean they are your entire world. There are millions of people in this world, and your value is not determined by the few who fail to appreciate you. It may simply mean that you have not yet found the connections you deserve.

Instead of investing your energy in people who treat you as a backup option, try investing more time in people who genuinely care about you and your well-being. New connections can be made by joining groups or activities that match your interests. Being around healthy and supportive people can help you build new experiences and gradually reduce feelings of loneliness. You deserve connections where you feel respected, included, and cared for.
