New friends
Making friends can be really hard for me sometimes. My boyfriend says it’s just my personality and how I don’t engage or talk much, which makes people think I’m not interested in them. But I really want to connect with others and have people I can talk to, vent to, or share interests with. I want to be there for them too and maybe find someone to play video games with. It gets lonely sometimes, especially since my abusive ex made me stop talking to a lot of my friends. It’s tough to move past that, but I’m learning to rediscover myself and figure out who I want to be. I’m working on trusting and loving myself again. If you’ve been through similar experiences or just want to chat, feel free to reach out! Let’s support each other on this journey. 💖

I just want to say I see you, and I hear you. It takes so much strength to open up about something like this, and I hope you know how proud you should be of yourself for even putting these feelings into words. Rebuilding after an abusive relationship is incredibly hard, especially when it’s left you feeling disconnected from the friendships and support you once had. But the fact that you’re actively working on trusting and loving yourself again? That’s powerful. That’s resilience.
It’s okay that making friends feels difficult right now. You’ve been through a lot, and it makes sense that it takes time to find your footing again. The right people the ones who truly see and appreciate you will value you for who you are, even if you’re more quiet or reserved. You don’t have to change your personality to be worthy of connection. The right friendships will make space for you to be exactly as you are.
I know it gets lonely sometimes, but you’re not alone in this. There are people out there who will understand, who will support you, and who will love having you in their lives. And if you ever need someone to remind you that you’re doing an amazing job just by existing and trying, I’m here for you. You’ve got this. One step at a time. 💖
